This cover design is inspired by the protagonist’s journey of self-discovery in Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit. She sits alone on a hillside looking toward the town, symbolizing her reflection and struggle between personal identity and a conservative religious environment. A cross overlooking the town suggests the strong influence of Christianity on the world she grows up.
